Technologist, Entrepreneur, Social Activist and Marketing Professional are just few of the terms that define John Leon in the business world. Yet, being a good parent, husband and community leader are perhaps more relevant descriptions to him than anything else. Colombian native, John is the son of a Hospital Nurse and an Industrial Engineer. He moved to the US at age nineteen to complete his undergraduate education. While going to school in New York, John started his business life working as support staff in a well known real estate company. Upon completion of his studies, John worked eight years for 1-800-MATTRESS in New York City as Chief Technical Officer. Then, John decided to ride the Internet Boom and created I-CRUISE.COM. The first ever online Cruise only booking engine in the world. Upon successfully completing that endeavor, John moved on to the Telecommunications world where he marketed and sold Internet based technology for the telephone industry. Such technology transformed the telecom world as it made international calling very inexpensive. The health bug came along, and looking to explore South Florida a plastic surgery clinic was born in the hearth Brickell Avenue. Although that did not work well, it opened John’s eyes to the incredible scope of health related needs in the community. It is then, when John begins to outline the idea of a Health foundation. Today, and after working in a couple of marketing and technology related business, John acts as Manager and Associate Realtor of a local Real Estate company and director in a Doral Based Health Foundation. John is married and lives in Fort Lauderdale with his wife and two kids.
Angie Perez is a bilingual, Emmy Award-winning journalist, television host, voice-over artist and radio announcer, with a consolidated career in the U.S. Hispanic market as well as Latin-American television. Her vast experience, spanning over a decade, covers many news and entertainment branches in media, inside and out of her native Venezuela, having worked with several networks including Telemundo, Univision, Telefutura, Mega TV and America TeVe in the U.S., E! Entertainment Latin America, as well as Venevision, Televen and RCTV in Venezuela. Angie has a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies from Universidad Central de Venezuela and a Master of Arts in Television Broadcast Journalism from the University of Miami. Angie was recently diagnosed with thyroid cancer and underwent surgery, which allowed her to get closer to God and re-arrange her priorities in life. Angie is happily married and lives in South Florida with her husband Carlos and their daughter Gabriela.

Mariela Quintero, now an American Citizen, was born in Venezuela. She is happily married to a wonderful man and with two children. She graduated as an attorney and anchorwoman in Venezuela. In the U.S. she only works as an anchorwoman. Mariela is a happy person and a good Christian. Her hobbies include reading and bowling.
Ligia Elena Vidal was born in Camagüey, Cuba and arrived in the City of Miami in 1995. Ligia thanks her parents for all the sacrifices they made for her to come and grow up in this great country. She has spent most of her life studying. She graduated from the University of Miami with a degree in Communications and History. Subsequently, she studied medicine at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The most important thing is family and education. Ligia believes our Hispanic community would benefit from programs that focus on health and education. Being part of modern medicine is an honor; and she believes she has the tools to do a good job and win the competition.
As a first generation kid in the United States, Humberto learned what hard work and sacrifice was all about. He participated in sports throughout high school and college while growing up on the south west side of Miami. Upon graduating he quickly found a love for healthcare and the ability to impact a patient through careful coordinating or services and humane treatment. His career in healthcare began with Apria Healthcare, one of the largest DME companies in the US. He learned a lot and was able to use my background in Economics to manage time efficiently. After 3 years in DME, he was hired to develop and grow two medical centers for Ritecare Medical. In this role he honed his business skills and was confronted with the task of motivating employees and growing the market share. As of a year and a half ago, he accepted the Vice President position at High Standard Health Services. At High Standard they provide numerous services including nursing, physical therapy, and social work. “I absolutely love my job because I can directly impact the experience of patients discharging from hospitals.” Currently, Humberto is enrolled in the Healthcare MBA program at FIU. This unique program forges healthcare and business elements. As far as goals are concerned, he wishes to continue to impact patients and hold a position where he can help a company grow. Also, he is interested in being a policy maker or hold a position in office one day. His hobbies include recreational sports, cooking, traveling, and coaching his high school wrestling team.
